Since Poker Masters was launched as an inaugural event this year, there are mixed responses from the poker community regarding what the event involved and how it played out.

Viewers who witnessed the event and saw the highest amount of buy in events where the big players participated, many were turned off by this mere fact. The amount of money that was required to take part in a certain buy in event of the tournament was enough to buy a luxury car for most people. On the other hand the players at the event were tossing such money around to play a set of cards. Those who spent around $500,000 to play such games were not people general poker players identify with. Bohn Takes Home 2017 WSOP $1,500 Stud Eight-Or-Better Event

The $1,500 Stud Eight-Or-Better Event saw as many as 595 players taking part in the event.

There were bracelet winners also in the fray. But, the title went to a 68-year-old retired man from Whiting in New Jersey called Ernest Bohn.

Bohn was not worried seeing such a strong line up enter the final table of the event. Bohn just believed his instincts and played with a clear mind. This has been the first ever cash prize that Ernest has got into the WSOP summer series and he was all over the moon.

Bohn said that he had come to Las Vegas with a plan in mind and it had worked for him. The end result is that he has taken the $1,500 Stud Eight-Or-Better Event title and also won his first gold bracelet of his career at 68 years of age. Bohn took home $173,228 first place prize money. WSOP 2017 Weekend Schedule Released

In order to maximize the participation of the poker players, the World Series of Poker have decided to conduct all the signature events of 2017 during the weekends.

The 48th WSOP events will be taking place from May 30 to July 17 and all signature events have been arranged to be held during the weekends. This is a very good move by the WSOP think tank as this will boost the poker player participation in the WSOP events.

This year the WSOP will be returning to the popular Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and there will be six straight weeks of events at this wonderful hotel and casino. The events include daily deep stack tournaments, golden bracelet events, cash games, and satellites. The entries recorded for all these events totaled to 53,727.

The world’s largest live poker event, according to the WSOP, will be the re-entry, no-limit hold’em Colossus III. It will take place from 2nd to 4th of June this year and will carry guaranteed $1 million prize money and allows one re-entry per flight. This will be followed by the Millionaire Maker event on June 10th and 11th with one million dollar prize money for the first place. Continue Reading
